PHOTO GALLERY 1980s
Below are pictures of Greg during the 1980s showing Greg performing various feats of strength, some at his gym, the others at a Bench Press Contest.  To view the pictures, just click on each thumbnail or simply watch the slideshow below the thumbnails. The bar over the bridge of his nose is half-inch rebar, 34" long.  Unfortunately, these are the only pictures of Greg from the 1980s.  During that time frame, he performed at a few gym openings, his own included, and a few churches.  The picture to the left of the half-inch rebar bend is at his gym opening.  Here he is bending a #2 diamond horseshoe.  The picture below the Atlas Gym sign, he is bending a half-inch square steel bar, 22" long.  This was done by placing the bar on his right hip, right hand holding the center of the bar, left hand holding the end, and bracing it against the upper part of the knee. He would then lock his right arm and exert a tremendous downward pressure, causing the bar to bend.  From that point, he would change positions and finish the bar off.  A funny anecdote, although not for Greg, on stage in front of approximately 150 people, upon the first drive, the bar slipped off of his hip and tore his pants a good 12", from the hip to the knee. This didn't stop him, however, and he completed the bend, although it was embarrassing.  The hot water bottle was blown up in his gym.  The rest are simply physique pictures.
